Introduction

The NESCAC Entrepreneurship Day is a full day innovation sprint for entrepreneurial students attending NESCAC colleges and universities to convene, connect, and collaboratively solve wicked problems with an entrepreneurial approach. Our inaugural event was held at the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship, followed by a Cross-University Student Innovators Mixer (CUSI) hosted by the MIT Office of Innovation.

Event format

• Each participating NESCAC school will send five undergraduate students to the event with one or more faculty, staff, or alumni chaperones.
  • Students may be of any school year (i.e., first year through senior year) as long as they are a current school degree candidate.
  • Mixed teams of five students from different schools will constitute participation teams at the event.
  • Each university will bring a mentor who can help support participating teams.
• Students will be given a problem prompt to address and deliver a solution during the day-long event,
  • MIT will define the problem prompt and provide access to domain experts who will present the problem, be available to answer questions about the problem, and help judge the solutions provided.
