Problem Prompt
The Innovation Sprint will be built around a problem prompt. Learn more here.
MIT Orbit
MIT Orbit is the one-stop-shop for MIT entrepreneurs where they can find startups, founders, investors, jobs, guides, deals, and connect with the community. MIT has made this platform available to students from other universities as well. We will be using Orbit for this event.
Instructions on how to sign up may be found here.
MIT Jetpack
- Students will use the MIT Jetpack software to do their analysis for the day. Jetpack is the AI-based tool that MIT uses with Disciplined Entrepreneurship in their teams.
- View recording of the Jetpack Training Video here. Or, if you prefer, here are 9 steps that will get you started.
- Accept the invitation from MIT to join Orbit. Contact your university’s entrepreneurship center leadership for the link if you cannot find the invitation in your Inbox.
- Click “Launch Now” button to the right of Disciplined Entrepreneurship
- Type an idea into the search box. For example: “Create a TA-bot to teach students how to make TA-bots”
- Click “Go to Disciplined Entrepreneurship” from the idea. Note there are 6 themes, 24 steps to a successful startup, this is the Disciplined Entrepreneurship Framework
- Click Step 1 (don’t go out of order). Orbit will make you a starter segmentation matrix. This is AI’s view of the world and not your own and does not take any of your own data into account so do not use it unmodified.
- Click “Edit Content Below” and write over any content that does not meet your expectations / does not match what your data says.
- When done, go to the next step and pick a beachhead market.
- If the Idea changes, you can hit Update Idea and rerun the whole thing but be sure to check each step and edit it down again.
- Rinse and repeat through Step 5.
Pitch training
- The students will receive pitch training from MIT during lunch.
